Default oil cap question

Having a closed emission system on my 68 coupe I'm wanting to go with a smaller air cleaner and vented oil cap to make it a cleaner look and to do away with the oil cap hose to the big blue air cleaner look. My intake would be more visible also. Is that ok to do. Thanks for any feed back.

You can do that, but you will be smelling fumes from the vent-cap. I
tried that, even on a 2000 model car, and I could not stand the fumes,
so I went back to hoses. If there happens to be a lot of blow by, as
the engine ages, it can get out out. Make sure you use a breather
filter cap. I mean, the hose is not even a foot in length...

You may be able to modify the existing cap to put a breather filter
on it.

This is what we have done:

That's the way I want mine in your picture. I have a vented oil cap with no hose connection. Now I need a 14 inch air cleaner. Thanks

Of course any hot oil vapor or ring blow-by if any, will show up on your nice shinny valve cover.
Does look good!
