Default 1965 console full-length door springs

I just purchased this full-length console. The door was crooked so I removed the door and springs...one of the springs was bent a significant amount.

Straightened the spring and reinstalled but want to make sure I got the correct spring orientation. Pics attached

Seems to open and close okay but not smoothly... maybe that's how it's designed... or poorly designed.

And these things were a real bear to reinstall.

Default Console door

And there's no handle on the door? Seems very difficult to open and close.

Default console door

And are the two holes in the door bottom corners supposed to have rubber door-stops?

Okay, no replies on the console questions...no console people out there?? I have another one. What bulb size is correct for the light in the forward storage compartment?

Not many people left in the classic section, I have a console in my garage I will have to look at and see, I'm not even sure if it is a complete one or not.

Thank you 1slow67. I did more research and have narrowed it down to two choices. I found a couple Mustang vendors that have bulb charts listed. Both say the console storage compartment could be a 1895 or 1445. In some different online locations, they list the 1895 as correct. I imagine it's not that critical which one of those.

Your spring orientation is correct and the bulb in mine was the 1895.

As for the holes on the bottom of the door, mine has nothing in them.

Another question. Do you have a picture of the metal mounting bracket as it's attached to the console?

I'm trying to understand how to attach the bracket to the car when it's underneath the console. Or do you attach the bracket to the car first, then lower the console onto the bracket? That seems way too difficult to get things lined up correctly.
