After coming in 2nd in the 2020 Co-Part rebuild challenge we decided to reinvest the winnings to dress up the original engine bay in the 69. We had already purchased a rebuilt 351 CJ and new TCI street strip C-6 trans this past summer. After getting all that installed with the new Sanderson Ceramic coated headers and reworked the exhaust. We looked up various Serpentine belt systems and decided on the CVF Racing system. We spent the better part of a day removing all the old components and installing all the fancy new CVF parts.
PROS:
Nice design
Holes line up with factory ones
Shiny
main components included (bracket, Alt., A/C, Power steering pump w/ resevoiur, idler and tensioner pulleys, fan and harmonic balancer pulleys, hardware and belt)
Looks great in the engine bay
Cons:
A/C and Alt are on opposite sides from factory (requiring new replacements lines to be made)
A/C hoses not included (or mentioned before ordering)
Alternator harness extension or rewire not included (or mentioned before ordering)
P/S lines need to be replaced using AN fittings(not mentioned before ordering)
Needed to shim one of their spacers so it wouldn't twist the main bracket causing belt alignment issues
Mechanical fan spacer is incorrect to fit the water pump shaft and new pulley.
Overall:
Went together easily
Just waiting on the parts that weren't included or mentioned to be needed CVF Box came within a week All spread out Installed Much cleaner look Just need the parts that didn't come in the kit.
There are a few minor things we have on order as well, like red Dist cap, red wires, different pcv hose, etc. but we're getting there.
I purchased a arch system that is similar to the system you picked up. I had similar issues with the it as well. After you are up and running, I recommend you periodically make sure the mounting bolts are tight. My march system tends to work loose about every 3k miles.
