Default Power Issues

1968 Ford Mustang 4.7L 289 V8 C4 Auto

The other day I went to drive it, and all power was gone. Dome light didn't turn on, headlights wont and the key does nothing. So I went through the normal, I replaced the starter solenoid, and the voltage regulator and still no power anywhere, so then I checked all battery cables and connections and they are fine and clean. I then tested the battery it seemed fine and I tried a different battery in the car and still nothing. I even changed all fuses just in case something stupid happened.

Any ideas on what made all the power in my car go out like that? The only thing I didn't change was the connecter piece on the voltage regulator.

Do you have a multimeter? What do you get for an Ohms reading between the negative terminal of the battery and the chassis?

I dont have a multimeter but I can pick up one. Also question i found 2 wires that weren't connected to anything but strapped to the side of the fender wall. Is that my fusiable link? Could of that be my issue? I'll try to upload a photo if it let me.

If that is behind your battery, then that looks like your 655 wire (Red) and possibly your 38A and 152. What color are the pair of wires that go into the single eye?

Looks like one wire has yellow and brown and the other is black.

The Diagram helped so much I appreciate it, I connected both of the wires to the hot side of the starter solenoid and I got my lights and everything back, even fired it up. Only odd thing now is when I turn off my key my fan didn't shut off like it suppose to. (Electric Fan btw)

Awesome, glad it helped. I can't add much about the fan, I don't have an electric. Seems like there would be a temperature sensitive switch somewhere along its path to power.
