"Normally" that is the answer we would all give him Mike, but he says it only does it with a full tank of gas, then it quits doing it after it reaches 3/4. Therefore, the quandry.

well I replaced the pump and filters and the one filter right before it gets to the pump had a bunch of brownish junk in it so im thinking that it very well could be that when I fill the tank it mixes up that stuff, so ill either try to only fill it to 3/4 or just clean it out once it gets empty... how excatly do I clean it out anyway?

AHA, so Nick was onto something. If you have a drain plug on the corner of your tank as I do, then unscrew that plug and let her drain. Jack up the driver's side rear so that it will totally drain. If not, you are going to have to siphon out as much as you can, then take out the sending unit . Take the tank out of the car and turn it so the sending unit hole is on the bottom so all residue, rust and gas is totally drained and out of there. You probably had that car sitting for awile too long with gas that turned into varnish. And/or you have rust residue. Now, hook up your shop vac and through the sending unit, vacuum out as much as you can. Put it all back together, refill the tank with about 5 gallons, then see how she reacts. If she runs fine, then top off the tank with fresh fuel. Any time you leave your car sitting for an extended period of time, make sure the tank is totally full to prevent water from forming on the cold metal on the inside of the tank. That causes rust, and water and fuel don't mix. Also, use an additive called Stabil to stabilize the fuel whenever you store it to prevent the fuel to not turn into varnish.

You might also look into this, although I think just a good draining and refill is in store for you. http://www.por15.com/uploads/files/f...aler%20pdf.pdf

I would change the tank and all of the fuel lines. You have no idea how good the tank is inside and how much crap is in it. I drained flushed andprepped a tank to have it rust out on me. So I bought a new one anyway.

ok so I take out the gas tank and find out that there has been some dmg to the rear end that's been fixed with a bunch of bondo and a little bit of spot welding... [:@] anyway once I got the tank out I look inside and it looks like its in great condition (the gas was completely clear when I came out) but I still tyred to vacume anything out that might be in there and I didn't get anything, then I got the compressor and blew some air in it to see if any kind of dust particles would come out and nothing so I put it back in, put a couple fresh gallons of gas in and head to the gas station, I fill it up and nothing :| so I don't know what I did, but its fixed...
