Default Opened it up for the first time......

Well... I hit 500 miles since the motor was completely rebuilt and while out cruising with the wife this past weekend I thought i'd snap the throttle good and see what she's got. We where out in the country...well maybe I should say out in the desert on a nice baron road... From a rolling start I snapped the throttle and she broke the back tires loose and wrapped right up to 5500. The rear end come out about 15 degree's for about 100 ft and then snapped straight and grapped hard. I hit second and the same thing happened... by then it was time to shut it down...enough's enough.. I have to admit..she wound out as nice as my old GTO's used too, just seemed to grap alittle harder after spinning, maybe cause to car's so much lighter.
I did turn around to see if I left any parts.... none... just a nice dual strip about 100' long with a second about 40.
Well...that'll be my one burnout for this year...

sweet, try dropping some sandbags (or your wife lol, jk) in the trunk and try it again. I bet you get a lot better traction that way. Classic mustangs are pretty light, you're right, and they are notorious for snowy weather driving.

Sounds like you have everything dialed in correctly. Some stickier tires will help with the burn out...But, your objective was to have a burn out anyway.

It's fun isn't it!

Just be careful on those full power runs... wouldn't want you to end up like that Enzo that self destructed in Italy a couple of weeks ago.

Winter sucks! News this morning is calling for a slush mix overnight. This could possibly be the first "salting" of the season which marks the start of my vehicle's hibernation.
