Default Front tires

HI all,

As some of you know, I have a 72 that I am continuing to have problems with...the newest thing to set me back is my front tires- the hubby drove the car Saturday and found that the tires, both of them on the front, are worn down to the belt. Why is this happening? Most of the tire looks good, it is just this one inch wide worn spot almost all the way around.

Thanks guys,
Charity

the reason behind that problem is due to a bad alignment. when the tires wear to the belts on one side its due to to much positive chamber, a good alignment shop can fix the problem, however if the strut rods are bent, or the crossmember in the front is pushed back from hitting a curb, than youll have some expensive problems to address. First check the front strut rods, and make sure there tightened to the lower control arm, and check to make sure there not bent in any shape or form.

Simple solution. Take it to an alignment shop. If there are bent parts, they will tell you about it. If there are bent parts, have them replaced, then get it aligned.

have your tires adjusted at the shop. its having excessive camber or caster.
