help
im 15 yrs old and i got a 1966 mustang for christmas last year and i am in the middle of taking it apart. right now i am having problems with the drive shaft and how to get it out. i have taken the three bots that hold it to the engine bay. is there something that is holding the shaft. because it wont just come out of the car. thanx for your help.
First thing I would do is get a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual for the car.
If you are taking out the drive shaft, there are two U-bolts with 4 nuts that have to be removed where it attaches to the differential. Once the nuts and ubolts are removed, simply slide the shaft towards the front of the car enough to clear the mount, drop the shaft a bit to clear the differential and pull it towards the rear of the car.

What he said. Also use a permanent marker and draw a line from the shaft to the pinion yoke. Try to reinstall it in the same position as you take it out. This will help keep things balanced.
