Has anyone here tried Nitrous?
I was flipping through my summit racing catalog to see what cool stuff I could get for my projects, when I came across the page with Nitrous (NAUSSSS for you ricers out there [8D] ). The prices are actually very reasonable, a lot less than I thought they'd be. If I was going to get one, I'd probably only go with a 50 shot or mabe 75 at the most. Has anyone here tried it? The motor will me stock bottom end, alum heads, carbed (for now, at least). Good things, Bad things? What kid did you use?
Thanks for the responses in advance!

I have used it occasionally. 175 shot on the top end if I was a little behind in the brackets. Costs way to much to use it all the time, at least for me. Like hutch said, forged pistons, good rods, etc. Also timing must be tolerable, along with enough fuel so as not to go lean. lean = pistons with holes. I reccomend a seperate pump and lines to get fuel to the N2O system, prefereably an electric that is wired for on demand use. Race gas doesnt hurt either when spraying.
It works and I never blew anything up with it, just learn as much about it as you can. If the instructions say dont do this, then dont do that.

Many years ago I used NOS. I only remember stage 1, 2, and 3. I used stage one with the plate hidden in my air cleaner. The lines ran out of my PCV tube up against the firewall where it passed through and nobody ever knew. The bottle was hidden under the rear shelf in my 65 fastback. I took the back seat out and replaced it with the fiberglass shelf the R's had. I squeezed coming into 3rd and it was like doubling the horsepower. I couldn't squeeze in first due to the lack of tire I could fit under a 65. I won many street races in SoCal. It sounded awesome with the exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels. On a cold night in an industrial complex, there's nothing like the sound of my mustang running the quarter mile. It always loosened my head bolts too. That was the days!
Mike,
Are you a gun dealer? (I know it seems like a dumb question given your screen name)
I am going to be buying a gun from out of state soon and I need a licensed dealer to handle the transaction. Could you help with it?
