with or with out
ok im looikg fo a quick way of doing my Exhaust befor i get my headers witch will be about 6 to 8 months (need money). i was woundering if i can do straight pipes with (no mufflers). i live in portland, oregon. is this leagel can some one help. also i could just put mufflers on but i want some cheep one that i can remone later.
well, like 6mustang6 said, depends on the state laws but i'd figure its not legal. you'd probably at least get ticketed for noise pollution everytime you hit the gas. and to tell you the truth, you'd probably have to weld together a semi-custom pipe set since most exhaust pipes are made to work with a muffler but i dunno
You could probably do flex pipe and glasspacks for a hundred bucks or so.
A full exhaust would only set you back 2-300 for a cheap one. Then you could always adapt that to your headers.
When I got my stang it had header tubes to the bottom of the car in to a 6 foot long flex pipe that connected to the mufflers. No tailpipe.
It works, but it sounds and looks disgusting.

Well The exhaust set up I got only cost me $250 and that is for headers, pipes, muffelers, and all the nuts, bolts, and gaskets I needed (dule exhause of corse). Here are the links of what I got.....

With all the dirt hippies and environmentalists in Oregon, they'de probably impound your car. Glasspacks are cheap and so is muffler pipe. Buy the collectors, pipe, and glasspacks and clamp it together until you can have it welded later. Doing mods on your own will make you feel better about your mustang.
if you want, check out a local autozone or something for exhaust pipes, they sell it in like 2 feet sections and you can clamp/weld it together. i dunno about prices but you never know.
P.S. ya, you'll want a muffler to help get the "blub-blub" tone
