Default hose coming from axle

i finally got my cursed rear wheels off with an "different" technique but anyway, i noticed a hose about the size of the fuel line hose that was just hanging there. then i noticed where it broke off from the axle housing. anyone know what the house is for and where the other end is?

Could be the axel vent. If it is it will proably just run up to the frame and stop

it is indeed a vent hose for the axle. Ford put it there to insure proper ventalation,so the rear end would not burn up. There is a tube that connects to the axle itself, with a clamp similar to the one thats one the boot for the power steering slave cylinder. It is than connected to the top of the trunk floor with a clamp and a bolt woth a slit in the middle.
