Default Carb, Intake, what else????

Hey guys, I've decided to get an Edelbrock carb and intake. Now, my question is, is there anything else I have to buy? Do I need to replace anything else? Its just a swap, Im taking off the old ones and putting these on. I would like to get all the parts before I start. Thanks

not a bad idea to replace the rocker arms and lifters while your in there. No sense in putting more power into your motor if the top end is old and ready to die.

You might need new temp sending units, the heater fitting, most likely plugs, Vacuum line fittings for transmission, more wire to hook up electric choke. Most of this stuff might be in good condition on the other manifold and you can just take them off. Everything on mine was rusted,

even so take a wire wheel to them,(the metal parts people!) and clean them up. Fot the vacumm fittings in the intake i use castrol super clean engine degreaser in a cool whip container(empty of course) and let them sit in there for a little while, than used the air compressor to dry it out, slapped a new o-ring in and was ready to go

Might want to pick up a new thermostat housing, the old ones are usually pretty coroded. Ford Motorsport has a housing with a o-ring seal that looks good. Stick a new thermostat in while you are there

Look in my sig, my engine was rebuilt about 4 years ago. Taking a shot at it, Id say it has about 20K on it...
