302 HP and Torque estimates
I just bought a 1975 302 with a two barrel on it, but just bought a crap load of parts and am wondering what horsepower and torque ratings at the fly i can expect when its all put together.
I have
-600 cfm edelbrock carb
-Edelbrock Performer intake manifold
-performer cam and valvetrain
-summit racing headers w/ 1.5 inch tubes going into 3 inch collector
-ported heads(no more thermactor hump in 302 head exhaust port) and intake and exhaust ports matching intake and headers
-stock valve size
-electronic ignition
ive spent a little over 1500 dollars on it all together (adding odds and ends of accessories) and just want to know that i will get a significant gain over the stock 2 barrel 302. Any suggestions or estimations? Thanks

Assuming you bypass all the smog crap of 1975 and add all those goodies...the diff should be very noticable. Those ones were rated very low. Hope your heads bump up the compression ratio a lot also. Have them angle shaved if they are open chamber style.
don't forget a nice set of gears and a stall converter to launch. Not to hijack your post onuliakattack. 69 mach1377, what is the advantage of : angle shaved if they are open chamber style. How much can you shave them and still maintain the correct bolt angle? Does this increase the comp ratio?
I have a 73 stang with almost the exact same setup. Same carb/intake/cam, I have headman headers. I don't have the Heads or Electronic ignition, but I'm working on it. I put 3.80's in the rear and the difference was instant. It actually gets up and goes a little bit now! The gears were the best bang for my buck* --- I'll post some pics eventually, i'm in the middle of restoring the car. Again*
Stang was my first car and i'll never get rid of her! ~ Too much fun turning heads

Everyone I have talked to has said gears gave "instant" feedback as far as being worth it or not.
