Default difference in shifters?

Was wondering what the difference is between origingal toploader 4spd shifters w/ reverse lockout in the 1964 1/2 VS. 1965+ cars. I am seeing them advertised seperately on various sites. I am needing one for a rebuilt 1964 1/2 toploader 4spd tranny I am installing. I think common sense says "just buy the one advertise as a 1964 1/2 , but I want to know what difference there is in case I buy one on Ebay, and the seller doesnt indicate what year it is ( maybe because they dont know ).

I was just informed the angle of the bend is different...the 64 1/2 has a more significant bend than the 65.

Most of the earlier cars had t-10 transmisions. the late 65 cars mostly had top loaders. The location of reverse in the shift pattern was different. I think the mounting was different also.
