Default cowl cover

The cowl cover on my 66 coupe has cracks in it where the perforated slats come into the solid sheetmetal. I saw a new cover advertised in the virginia classic mustnag book but it said it was for 67-68 models. Whats the difference and where can i get one that will fot my 66?

pictures of the damage? the piece is galvanized so this sounds somewhat awkward. it's not rust damage, it shouldn't crack, i'm confused.

i think the cowl covers are good in theory, but they are ugly as hell. although it is a clear piece so that won't cover his 'cracks' he's referring to.

side note, here's what i did to fix my cowl problem: i cut out the rusty section from under the dash and replaced w/ the plastic cowl replacement pieces. but before putting in those pieces, i capped them off and seam sealed them so water and air cannot enter the car or cowl altogether. completely eliminated the problem area.

i saw the version for the 67/68 mustangs on mustangs unlimited. you might try calling them to see if it might not be listed for the 66'. also cjponyparts can get much of the body pieces that aren't in production off of the used cars that they have.
good luck
