brake lights went out...
My brake lights went out on my daily driver ...thought you guys might be able to help me out. I checked the fuse box under the steering column and the one in the engine compartment. I also checked the bulbs to see if they were burned but they looked fine. Is there anything else I should check?
Thanks guys,
Bill

Do you have a voltmeter?
It would be nice to test at the fuse box (not sure which one is for lights but not hard to find out)
Headlights still work? What about blinkers /backup lights?

I dont have a volt meter ....all the other lights work(reverse, headlamps, outer back lights, blinkers)....its just my brake lights for some reason. I even tried switching the bulbs but still nothing.

nah dont waste your time doing that stuff, go over to car quest and get yourself a new brake switch, which are mounted directly on the pedal. If you want i would pull it off, get the new one, hook it up (theres two wires i believe are green doesnt matter which sides goes where,) and take a flat head screw driver and push down on the metal contact point and have someone go from behind the car and see if the brake light goes on. I almost guarentee thats your problem
I second the motion on the brake light switch being the problem. But, I would first check to make sure the old one is making contact with the brake pedal before I bought a new one. Sometimes they get loose.
