Default VIN question

I've been looking at this 69 coupe i found off an old classified ad from Houston, and me and the owner have been emailing back and forth, and when he sent me the VIN number for the car, it reads it was Manufactured in Dearborn. Well from what ive read from Mustang History books, Dearborn is not the supplier of ford cars down here in texas. Am I correct? or did i just dream up that fact?

its not for that DSO, however my car was ordred from dearborn with a DSO to Buffalo, and it ended up in Colorado back in the late 70's, so its all on the door tag, it will have all the info above the vin that you need including interior, rear end, tranny, and destination in which it was sent to thebuyer. The thing with it, is theres a good possiblity it was from somewhere over east, and made its way over to texas and some point in time. If you want or if you have it, ask for the door tag and let me know, ill decode the devil for you

Not quite sure I understand the problem. Just because it was not DSO'd to Texas doesn't mean someone didn't drive it to Texas. Where is the problem here?

My Texas car was born in May of 1965, and was manufactued in the San Jose Plant, but the DSO is Denver. So, I guess you may be right about Dearborn not having a DSO near Texas.

i would actually prefer a dearborn car, i was born and raised up there and brought to texas. BUt there are 3 different ford mustang plants, Dearborn in michigan, San Jose in cali., and Metuchen in NJ. And from what i was told, each has certain states like San Jose is southwest and south, Metuchen is north and southeast, and dearborn is north and northwest states. Thats what i was told at least.
