Been at this 3 months now. First pic shows the starter car. So far I have got the lowering suspension kit from mustang depot installed with the front disc brake kit and power booster. I've rebuilt the 9 inch that came in it and went with 3.50 rears (no posi). Had the short block done and installed the trick flow heads, cam, push rods, roller rockers and lifters. The exhaust is hung. It was from MAC and sounds so sweet. Learned something I didn't know. The firing order on the 85 and later is different than the early cars. Went with a late modle cam and learned that the hard way. So now I have the same firing order as a 5.0. Seems strange but it works fine with an early short block. Got my gauges from summit and got those installed in the bezel. I should be finished with the wiring by the end of the week. Wheels and tires are from an '05. Needed 1 1/4 inch spacers to make that work. I love the wheels though. They came with the factory perelli's. I'm thinking 3 more months to bang out the body work and get the paint on it. Let me know what you think. I'm not going for stock as you can see.

Gonna put shelby tail lights, 65 GT exhaust rings in the rear valance and block out the backup lights. The exhaust tips will be 3 inch angle cut with a rolled end. It will have a 66 t-bird grill in the front. The inside will be 2 tone aqua and white pony seats. I know it's not original but I love the pony seats. I've got the 5 speed trans in now I'm just waiting on the drive shaft. The rest of the body I'm going to keep pretty stock. Might go with shelby side scoops but I'm not sure yet.

The boster I got from Metro Mucsle cars. Was supposed to fit a 67 with stock clutch linkage. I had to modify the equalizer bar and the through firewall bar. I was not happy. I talked to them at Metro and they claimed it was the right one. Not happy with their service or products.

The 05 tires and wheels seem to work fine but I haven't driven the car yet. Still waiting on the drive shaft. If I had to do it again I would have went with 1 1/2 inch wheel spacers. The wheel is very close to the upper a-arm. But it looks like it will be ok. I've run the steering lock to lock and everything clears. I'm curious what it will l look like when I get the front sheet metal on. I have a 1 inch lowering kit from mustang depot. The springs are from maier racing. I also did the shelby drop. I hope it is not too low!

For your sake, I hope everything clears once weight is put on the front end. I have my doubts, but I have been wrong before.

the 05 wheels will fit without rubbing if you have the right spacers....i looked into them for my car but decided not to spend that much dough and still be using spacers

they do look good on these old cars though

I bought a set of those wheels. I need to buy the spacer kit for them though.
