HELP!!!!!
Sorry, I was directing that question to the thread starter. I knew you guys were kidding about two guys turning it over and shaking the motor out of it. Hell, here in Arkansas we use three guys to complete the task of turning it over and shaking. I have found that it works a lot better if you unlatch the hood first though.
The simple part is getting it out... just unhook anything that is preventing it to come out (hoses, wire, motor mounts, transmission, etc...) the only thing that you need to worry about is remembering what goes where so when you go to put it back in you can hook everything back up other than that an engine hoist and an extra person never hurts.
Ya, use painter's tape or some tape that wont stick TOO bad but will stay long enough to work and label everything! literally. Remember to remove the bellhousing bolts for the tranny, exhaust, motor mount bolts, some vacumn lines, a lot of wires(battery, alt, oil pressure, etc depending on model/year), and it wouldnt help to move the air cleaner out of the way. But ya, what have you managed to pull off so far?
I got a PM from him with more detail. he wrote "I have the motor mounts off the headers off
and the driveshaft off and it still wont come out."
I told him to check transmission mounts that’s about all I could think of right off hand.
Any more suggestions?
