One is hooked to a switched hot lead and the other is on a hot lead all the time. The one that is on a hot lead all the time is for memory so it retains you channel selections.

You can hook the one that needs switched power to the power lead off the radio, That one has power only when the key is in the run position. The other one you would need to hook up to the dome light (or some other wire that has power all the time), I think that one has power all the time. As to fues's, I would put a fuse in line with each one and the size sepends on the radio. That could be anyplace from 1 to 3 amps I think.

By the way, no one was stating you were stupid. When someone aks's a question like that, its assumed they have no clue about wiring stereo equipment.

I used a multimeter to find out which fuse was live. Then I soldered the radio wire into the fuze box.

what he said.... it's the easiest thing to do and you have easy access to it. Just be careful soldering...

You say you found an AM/FM radio with a CD player that fits into your stock location? I didn't know they existed. Tell me what it is.
