Kinda dumb question here. I'm about to buy a new interior seat/carpet restoration kit and I noticed something a bit strange. Take a look at the driver's seat outer edge where the moulding SHOULD be...its not there, but the hinge is there and the chrome moulding is on the inner side of the driver's seat (right hand side). On the passenger side, the chrome moulding is on the outer (right) hand side where I believe it should be....Do I have 2 passenger seats in this car? And if so, is that going to screw up my buying new seat covers? Will a driver seat cover work on this seat? I see pics of other 67 convertibles and most have the chrome moulding on the left side where the drivers door is...but a few have no moulding like mine...any ideas?

Wow, never heard of that. Maybe they have been recovered before, and they moved the trim. very possible.

 

Sounds like 2 pass. side seats. The seat covers will interchange. You won't have any problems with the new ones. Each seat should lean toward the shifter when folded forward.

 

Thanks for weighing in on this...its geting stranger and stranger. I pushed my seat forward and it does not point towards the shifter, but straight ahead and just a bit toward the driver door. So I looked on EBAY Motors at the 1967 Mustangs, figuring they mostly show an interior shot from the driver's door and I could figure out what they all have and compare them to my seat. Anyways, half of them have the molding on the outside of the seat, half don;t. Here are two links which clearly show it both ways....any input?

hmm, maybe the 67's dont quite open like the 66's. I know my 66 moves toward the shifter. ill look at my 67 vert. tomorrow for you.

 

well on 67's the pass sear does go towards the shifter, and the driver seat starts to go towards the shifter only....the steering wheel gets in the way so you see the situation. IMO i think you have 2 pass seats in the car, its not a huge surprise mainly because these cars have a huge history of being hit, or interior had been damaged in its life.
