Default center console on 19

I recently bought a 1966 Mustang coupe. It has a 6 Cyl with a 3 speed manual trans. As extra parts I got a center console. Did this car come original with the center console in it?

Thanks
JI

Look at it and you can tell where the shifter comes through see if it has the park drive and neutral piece. If its just a square hole it goes to your car most likely.<edited><editID>1966 Mustang15</editID><editDate>38017.6700810185</editDate></edited>

The center console was an option for 66. There were 2 different versions, with 2 variations: one for a convertible, and one for a coupe/fastback and with or without A/C.</P>

The convertible one is cut along the bottom to allow for the extra floorpan strengthening. The one for A/C was cut short(no glove box on the end) to accomodate the ac blower assembly. Either way it's a nice little option to have.</P>

There is no EXACT way to tell if it came with it or not(unless you have an original invoice or build sheet or a body buck tag under the hood), except to check the actual center hump area for the screw holes and mounting bracket, and if the wiring is there under the dash to plug it in.</P>
