A 289 or a 302 will do you just fine.. You can get some HIGH HP out of a 302 with some heads, cam and an intake. I have a 302 with about 250hp and it sounds Awesome!! I'm going to put heads, new intake and long tube headers next year which should push it to about 350 or more.

My current stang has a manual with a tri ax short shifter. I am looking at getting a nice cruiser with a good sound and fun to drive. Can you get short shifters in a 67?? and what transmission should i get? THe stang i am going to buy is gonna be a beater and i am going to build it from the ground up

hmm....well if you want it to be a cruiser...then probably want an auto...if you wanna DRIVE....then probably a manual......

auto....well if its an auto it will probably have a C-4...if your looking to go manual then get a T-5 5 speed.

Just some advice for you. Soaring is the mod here, and me might not approve of your avatar, so you might want to change it, im not trying to draw attention, but he's bound to notice, and say something about it. GOod luck with whatever you pick.
