I need moral support
Man every time i walk past my mustang and see the rust holes in the roof it gets me more and more discouraged. I want to replace the entire roof but i know its going to be a BIG job. I would let a body shop do all my work for me but i cant afford that and i would be very nervous letting someone else do something that major to my car. If anybody here knows of any EXCELLENT body or restoration shop in north carolina please tell me, or if anybody has ever replaced the roof on a mustang please let me know how you did it
Thanks,
Daniel Cohen

Its not that bad man, if you dont have a fastback, patch it up as best you can and add a vinyl top. it doesnt have to be perfect that way and it will still look ok.
I have gotten srustrated with weather, money, physical issues, and the entire car so much that I havent touched the 71 in the last two months, well other than to get a tool off the cowl or something. When it warms up a bit I will have the drive to mess with it again, its not something you can do like a job, you work on it when you want to.
If you can post some pics I can give you some ideas as to how to go about fixing it, if you take your time and work slowly, there is no reason you cant do it yourself. You will need some tools, but the best part about tools is, you can use them more thanonce and after you buy them, you dont have to buy them again!!! lol... simplistic I know...

ive got a couple small holes in my roof too and my pass side "A" pillar is completely rotted. just patch it with sheet metal the best you can, if the holes aren't too big. its really eash to make the roof look straight with body filler.
i know most of the problems my roof has are due to the vinyl top it once had.

I know how you feel my friend. My mustang has rust over 70% of the frame, one part is so bad the frame has broken. It also has holes in the quarters, trunk, and that part right under the rear window. I'm just about ready to sell it off to let someone else deal with the problems... Keep the faith and do what you can when you can. You could always patch it with resin if it came down to it, it's relatively easy. I won't sell if you don't... =)
