Default Replacing Alternator - Multiple ?'s about mounting

1- with the belt off, what is the easiest way to remove the nut in order to pull off the old pulley and fan?

2- I bought a concours mounting kit that has 2 small bolts, 1 long bolt, 2 different syle washers (1 wide flat and 1 narrow offset), and a steel spacer. Where do the washers go?

3- What bolts washers then go with the bottom adjustment bracket?

4- Are both brackets supposed to be painted black?

thank you for the help.

Matt

I'm not sure about the bolts and mounting kit, or if the brackets were painted, natural or coated in some way.

One thing I do know is that you dont need to pull the nut and fan to replace the alternator. Dont even need to pull it to rebuild one, unless the front bearing is bad. You could say its a PITA because it takes a special tool on most alternators, I havent done the front bearing on an old Ford type in way to many years...
