Okt. 1 2008:

Again, a few small repairs. Firts the minor work, later the hard stuff.

Reparing the front frame rails:

passenger side:

Torque box left:

Because the previous owner cut the body up like a butcher, i have the rebuild it carefully. One piece at a time.

While searching for some clamps, i found a piece of the builtsheet. Only small pieces, but it's a keeper. It used to be beneath the carpet. If the previous owners were more careful, there would be a lot more left.

Okt. 2 2008

yet again a small repair at first.

A little more work, because the old one had to be cut out.

Reinforcement for the front shocktowers. One of the places where the rust hasn't been. it put some coating in it so it won't get the change to. And with these shield, dirt cant get to it either.

A bit of cutting:

Okt. 3 2008:
replaced passenger side torque box.

Warning, do not try this at home:

Place the thinner far away!!!

And the weld.

Okt. 6 2008:

Welding the last front piece in place. From firewall to front is finished!!

Later i started reinforcing the front, before cutting out the cowl assembly and firewall. So the body won't cave in.

Cut 2 pieces away.

Okt. 10 2008:
after a lot of cutting:
I can see my engine from here!!! sort of speaking.

Okt. 13 2008:

after cutting all that metal away, 2 bad spot appeart. Because the rockers aren't availeble, i had th improvise.
First a small piece on the top.

Next were the rockers, was a @&%$*^# job to get it right.

At the end of the day, i put the firewall back in. One thing is for sure, to Quote kelly Clarkson: NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

When that was in, i could get on with he floors:

Okt 17 2008.
Passenger side floorpan.

And now the hard parts, reconstructing the (no idea how it's called in englisch)
I started at the passenger side.

Piece by piece

Then the driverside was up, it needed a little less work then the other side.

Reconstruction:

Okt. 19 2008.

Up till now the front is as far as it gets. I'll have to save up some cash the order the next load of sheelmetal. So i cut out the rear taillight panel.

Out with the old:

In with the new:

Because the next weldjob will take place sometime next year, i painted all the welded spots/panels in the epoxy primer.

Back to the present: 3 Weeks ago, another order came from CJ. Next week i have 2 weeks off, so i will continue my work on the body. With a bit of luck i'll finish it. The hardest part will be the quarter panels.

A few weeks ago my order from CJ came in. I now took 2 weeks off to get the body done.

Yesterday i did the following:

Old piece of floor out:

New in:

Not availeble new, so i ordered (while back) 2 pieces from CJ. Luckely they have a few cars they're parting out.:

During

After

Small repair spot:

Today the left side was up.
This side was more of a pain in the ...... don't know why, but it took a little longer.

Result:

Small porject between projects, my new tires came in. So hoped in the car and had them put them on. New 15" styled wheels, 215/60 front and in the rear 235/60

creating some room

a little more

Messy work.

Last thing of the day: trunk drop-off.

Tomorrow i'll try to repair both wheel houses and maybe start with the quarter panels. If you guys have any tips, they're welcome. Before i cut out the quarter panels, i will put in the doors, so i'll know where the body lines up.
