Default Cold Weather Drop-Top

I know I've heard it before somewhere - In fact I think it's in the manual...

But at what temp does it become dangerous to lower the convertible top? (I'm guessing due to fabric strength and rigidity).

Also, at what point, if there is, is it too hot?

im thinkin when you start to have trouble moving your arms or feeling your face its too cold

same applies to hot except you see peoples tires melting

The recommendation of the installer that did my top, no colder than 60 degrees. Any temp on the high side, but hey, I prefer the a/c to a hot hair dryer blowing in my face.

Well seeings how I live in Alaska I'm not buying the 60 degree and warmer (even if it IS true! lol)

I have lowered my top at temps well below freezing. My cut off during winter months is 15 degrees as long as I stay off the highway. (the heater can actually keep up at speeds under 45) On my wifes 06 vert we have had the top down every single month since we have owned it. On my 06 S/C vert it is parked in the winter. On a nice sunny 15 degree day or warmerour top is going to be down. Never had the over heating problem some have mentioned ..... lol!

I tryto put my top down atleast once a month, but below 60 is normally my cutoff.

On a side note hello to everyone again, due to working 60+ hours a week the past three months it has been a while since I had time to check the site.

60 degrees?? That just aint going to cut it for me here in Wisconsin. Our late fall temperatures are easily going to be dipping into the 50's, and I plan on squeezing out every possible sunny day out of the vert before it gets preped for winter storage.

Nah! Not 60! I've always thought anything above 45, with sun, was top down time. I used to drive about 25 miles one way each day to work in an MG. I didn't put the top up until I ABSOLUTELY had to. The tonneau kept the heat in with me and I was WIDE awake when I got there!

Seriously, when it get "really" cold....like maybe in the 40's, I make sure I pull in the garage and let the car warm up before stretching a cold top to put it up.....or park it in the sun with the top up, but not latched until it warms up and relaxes a bit....... Top down, every month during my ownership!
