figured the leak
anyways now i have 2 verts one cobra one gt. Got sick of the leak and decided to find out where its leaking from. The water leaks into the top storage behind the back seat. I removed the black panel that in has 5 screws once you open your trunk. The metal black panel. Then you have to put the top up half was and remove the other panel that attaches to the middle black panel. Anyways usually the rubber piece comes off you'll see it when you take both panels of. then I used hot glue to glue it back on also recomend to put some sore of sealant there. Just thought I'd share with you guys. Cuz I had my Gt for 3 years now and never wanted to mess with it cuz i thought it would be a pain!

Would you happen to have any pics of these panels you're talking about? I must admit that I've been terrified of removing anything on the top for fear of making it worse. I had just about resigned myself to just getting the top replaced this summer, but if I can fix it as easy as you say, that would be MUCH better.
leaves more money for the KB swap!

Once you put the top half way up, where my finger is, there is a screw, unbolt that screw after you take off the middle piece and that way the side panel can be moved out of the way.
Thank you! I very much appreciate you taking the time to post the pictures. Now that I see them it makes complete sense as to what you were talking about in your post!
Here's to hoping that my leak is in the same spot yours was. It'd be nice to use $2.95 worth of silicone caulking to fix it rather than $1700 for a new top. I'll still want to replace the top down the road, but I'd like to wait a couple of years so I can concentrate on getting my KB blower swapped in this month and some other things I'd like to do with the car.

Another place to check is your rear window at the corners. This is a common place for the top to leak as putting the top up and down puts a lot of stress at this location. Look at the bottom of therear window under the flap of material. This can be fixed with some good epoxy and letting it dry for a couple of days. i had that problem and had water pooling in mine to, put some epoxy there and no more water. I am still going to replae it but now I don't have to do it as soon. Another thing to think about is that a good upolstry shop can replace just the bad section, if the rest of your top is still in good condition. I am having the rear section and window replaced on mine. The guy at the shop told me how to fix it temporarily till I coul make it in.
