Top won't move at all.
All of the sudden my top won't work on my 2000(earlier edition) 3.8. It's not the convertible top fuse under the dash, it's perfectly fine. When I push the button I can hear a faint click towards the back of the car but nothing happens. Yes I am doing it properly, I have been for 4 months. What could be wrong?

RE: Top won't move at all.
Not yet, today I'm about to take it all part and just follow the button all the way back.

RE: Top won't move at all.
I have a 2006 convertible and had the same symptoms about 3 months into owning it. Not sure if the process is the same on your model but I was able to find a hydraulic pump in the trunk pan and see that it was blowing fluid all over the place. Turns the whole thing needed to be replaced. Might be something to look for...

If you hear a click Im betting you hearing the relays clicking in. I have an 89 GT Vert and it did the same thing. I could hear the relays click in but no motor. the motor brushes were shot and caused the motor to stop turining. I took the motor out of the houseing and could see it was bad. smelled burnt and all. I went to a classic mustang place and got a new pump and it worked. fixed my issue. it was close to 300 bucks. but I know on ebay there are a ton of used ones. might be worth checking into.
