Convertible top motor clicks

Convertible top motor clicks
I have a 89 GT Convertible and the top stopped going up/down yesterday. The motor now clicks when pressing the button up/down. Some have suggested tapping the motor with a hammer, similar to a starter not working. I have also read that I may have to add fluid to the motor.
My question....how do I get to the motor? I know I have to remove the back seat. I can easily remove the bottom of the back seat but how do I remove the back part of th back seat?
thanks for your help

mmaasika,
This is something I have done a time or two. After you remove the seat bottom (cushion), you have to remove two bolts(10 mm?) that are located on the leg that the backrest frame is mounted to. Look on the back wall behind where the cushion was located.
After you take out the bolts that hold on the backrest onto the back wall, you need to push down to release a toe-in or you need to push up. I can't remember.
After you slide the backrest out of the way, you can see the motor. You might have a bad relay. You might have a bad switch. You might have a bad motor. Take the time to research it. You WILL spend more money than you need to if you don't take your time and follow the line.
