Dead Drivers Door Window - Help Please
Hello all, I'm new to this forum looking for help / suggestions from someone who may have experienced this same thing.
I have a 2006 4.0 V6 convertible with a dead window in the up position, driver's door ... all other windows work OK. This started 2 days ago with no prior signs of potential problems ... no problems with tracking, jamming, intermittent, etc., simply went from working 100% of the time through this past Sunday afternoon, to completely dead Monday a.m.
Those with convertibles know that when these windows are up & the door is opened, that the window in that door goes down very slightly (about 1/4 of an inch) in order to clear to top window track in the convertible top frame. When the door is closed, visa versa, the window will then go up that 1/4 of an inch to fully seat.
My window, all though it is up, it is in the 1/4 inch down position at all times, it does not move in any way when the driver's door is opened or closed.
Anyone experience this that can offer what the solution was? Any & all help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim

So it's basically your automated feature; makes the window go up by itself that is not working? If that's the case try to disconnect the battery for a few seconds and connect it again. My stang used to have a similar problem, i asked them what it was and they told me that my computer just needed a quick reset. GL kim.
Wow newer Stang vert windows do that? Mine doesn't.. I rented a Mini Cooper convertible recently and it did that, thought it was pretty cool (in fact the WHOLE TOP was really awesome on that car!)
but back to topic.. so the window motor makes no noise at all when you push the switch?

MythEyeLess & GreyStone, thank you for your responses. It wasn't just the automated feature not working, but complete dead & stuck in the UP position. I was certain it was a switch or motor, at least (if lucky) a fuse.
MythEyeLess, I first thought your suggestion of disconnecting the battery to reset was totally off base. I've heard this solving other more quirky symptoms, but surely not a dead window in 1 door when the other door window works ... but what do I have to lose?
So I tried it, disconnected the + lead for 15 minutes, reconnected & VOILA ... problem solved!! Thanks again for your replies & suggestions.
