the sequential unit number on my car is 119085....does this mean I have the 119, 085th mustang produced? I know its a dumb question, but I didn't think Ford made 119,000 mustangs in 91....am I wrong? What does the number mean?

And for some reason I thought there was more to the vin. Like the month/date made, color options, etc.....

 

According to my 1991 shop manual: "The last six digits of the Vehicle Identification Number indicate the Consecutive Unit Number of each unit built at each assembly plant. The Consecutive Unit Numbers begin as follows: 001 thru 600,000: Ford Division Vehicles. 600,001 thru 999,999: Lincoln/Mercury Division Vehicles." Hope that helps.
