Default 04 vert motor fluid

My top is not wanting to go down very well on its own, and going up is extremely slow... could this be a sign of low fluid? If so, what kind of fluid is used in the stock pump, and where is the fill plug?

After removing the top and bottom rear seat, you should see the pump mounted in between your amps. The black fill plug is on the right hand side of the pump. I was able to bend the relays out of the way to get to the plug. Pull the plug and fill until the fluid flows out of the plug hole. The top should be down(open) for this. If it is low, you have a leak. Look at hose connections to the rams and to the pump itself. Also, look around where the the arms go into and out of the rams. You may have to pull the rear speakers to see if there is any fluid dripping to the rear floor boards. Convertibles are great but there is a little more involved in maintaining them. Good luck.

Thank you for your help.
What kind of fluid? ATF?
If it is a leak, it is a slow one. It has lasted 10 years. I will need to get a new top soon enough if I keep this car (I want to, but it is starting to nickle and dime me).
