Hey folks, new to the forms but not the Mustangs. My problem is this… My 05 V6 when the top is retracted has two problems, I think.

One: When we’re tracking the top does not seem to go around the package tray or what would be the package tray when it’s being retracted. I have to manually by hand, move the material around it so that it will fit into the boot.

Two: When the top is brought down, the boot does not seem to retract flush to the body. I have attached a couple of pictures of this to illustrate my point.

And the question on this is… Is this working as intended. Because when I bought this car, there was an exact 05 GT convertible on the lot and I looked at its functionality as well. It also did not have the boot retract flush to the body. It looks wrong to me, but I can’t seem to find anything on that either on the Internet, or any manual or shop manual. Does anyone have any idea about this? I know I need to have it adjusted at some point but I would not think that would be a problem that would relate to the boot and the way it would fit onto the chassis of the car.

Does not retract all the way or fit flush against the body Same thing from the other side. And I do hear the motor wind so it’s trying to do something right?
