Default haze on headlight covers

I bought a 1999 GT, the headlight lens looks like it was scratched when someone buffed out the car. What can I do besides replace the headlight lens?

I have a DIY I'm in the middle of for this problem. It's simple to fix, but make sure you have a couple hours to set aside to work on them.
I'll post a reply when I'm done, should be sometime this week; I'm having a hard time getting good photos taken.
