Summer is comming up, and Im thinking about detailing cars during the summer, Considering I have nothing else to do .. How much you think I should charge for completly detailed exterior and interior?

I already know of the supplies + PC ..

And how do I get the word out that Im doing this? Anyone else had success with this??

Well I usually charge anywhere from $20-$80 depending on what car it is an depending on what they want done I usually charge for a full detail with a wax and interior detail is about $60. (I charge more if its an S.UV. or big car. But if you throw on a bikini an go door to door you can prolly get more!!!! an it should get the word out pretty quick

I used to detail cars and I charged anywhere from $60 and $150 It all depends on what the person wanted done and how much time was involved. I once did a conversion van and the guy paid me $220 for a full detail.

Make flyers and drive around your area looking for nice cars (nice cars=money) and put the flyers under their windshield wipers. That would be a good way for you to get the word out.

No ... alot of business and things as such use this method. Its a widely expected form of advertising.

Don't do this in a business parking lot. It is illegal in some states, I was actually called back by the owner of one place to REMOVE them all IMMEDIATELY [:@]

Make a nice BIG flier and post it up on the community boards of your local stores (Target, Meijer, etc) They have those where I am from. Then call your paper carrier and see what they would charge to stuff them in their Saturday or Sunday paper.

I started up my own side business (in addition to my day job).
The best way to advertise initially is word of mouth. Do a few jobs for friends or relatives for a reduced price (free if you're feeling generous). Then offer a deal for initial customers. If you do a good job, they will come back and also refer you to others.
I have never advertised my side job and now (3 years later), I have so many customers, I have to turn some away!

Good luck!

I've seen flyers put up in gas stations as well. Ask if you can leave some up on the counter. Another thing I would do is get some simple business cards done up. You don't need a company name, just put contact info. description of what you do, etc. As sowaxeman said, put them up on boards in like grocery and shopping stores.
