Preferred Wax/Polish
n00b here. Just got my '06 less than a week ago and I declined the Simoniz System 5 my dealer was selling. I've had great results with Liquid Glass on my '83 and '88, so I decided to go that way from the start with my new baby. I've also had some great experience with another synthetic called Vision on a truck of mine, but I don't believe they make it any more.
I was wondering what you guys recommend, how you use it, and whether I did the right thing by foregoing the System 5.
(I realize this topic has probably been discussed ad nauseum here, but I just had to start a n00b thread!)

Any other person on this forum can disagree with me but the facts are just there, 3-M products are simply the best. It's a little hard to find a dealer that carries them but I don't know where you're from but if you go to Carquest Auto parts stores they are an authorized dealer. Get the cleaner wax and go over your entire car with this first then go over with the carnuba and I promise you no other wax on the market will compare. It costs about $55.00 for both of these products but well worth it!!
im a real big fan of all the 3m stuff too, especially the glaze. I dont think it will cost you quite that much but i think they are about $15 per bottle, but well worth it.

I've been using Meguiars for years. It helped keep my last stang in new condition and it wasn't garage kept. I had it for 5 years and always had compliments on the shine and color. However i am interested in how the new Dupont line works so if anyone has it or has tried it let me know.

Congrats on the new Stang! I've had really good results with Mothers Reflections line. Its a little pricey, but the results are incredible.

I'd wash good, use the Clay Bar, and then use Reflections Car Wax -- it's a polymer that goes on easy and looks great.
You can also use the Top Coat and/or Spray Wax on top of that for added protection.
The Reflections Tire Care is now my favorite tire dressing, too... I like it better than their Preserves Protectant in that it provides a darker, more natural look.
Turtle wax Ultra Gloss is better than any others named above IMO. I have used almost every type of wax you can think of. It will make your car look like it has a glass cover over it. I will try the newest, and seem to keep coming back. After 2-3 coats it is rediculous how icy your looks-feels. I use mequires products for just about everything else, though. Their new full interior detailer is the bomb. No greasy residue, but it makes it look new. I use 3M for their dark colored polish.
