Thinking about spraying my engine bay off today with this engine degreaser, then it says to wash the stuff off with a garden hose. Now that sounds simple enough but what (on a 92 fox body 5.0) do I need to cover up in the engine bay??? Also, do I start the motor when I'm ready to wash everything off??? Here's the things that I know:

1: Air Filter
2: Distributor Cap
3: Alternator

Someone please post everything, I wanna get her clean but don't want anything to short out on me. Thanks guys!

 

Just cover the distridutor you be ok.

 

Use Simple Green...not sure about distributor, maybe cover it just incase (I never did a car with one)...don't bother starting it up...don't bother with alternator...cover air filter if its exposed....just let it air dry for a while

This way I did my cavalier 2 times, my parent's Taurus and my bro's Focus....never any problems

 

Okay, so I just cover up the distributor cap and airfilter (it's ran off of my MAF) spray this stuff on, let it sit for about 10 minutes, and go out there with a garden hose and rinse it off right? Sounds easy enough, gonna go try it right now.

 

Alright guys, I just sprayed on the engine degreaser and it's looking good already, I have about 7 more minutes to go before I can rinse it off. Can't wait to see how good this stuff works!
