ok, on the roof of my car, there was a fairly large scuff. I took the car to a friend who swore he'd "make it look like it never happenend." He told me he'd apply touch up paint and clear coat. I got the car back and it looked ****ing terrible. it more or less lookes like he threw a piece of black duct tape over it, though im sure its paint/clear coat.

anything i can do?

Dude, touching up black IS HARD. Hardest color to work with because it shows up EVERYTHING. Every little imperfection, will stick out like a sore thumb. Did the scuff go through the origianl paint? If not you might be able to just buff it out.

He told me he tried, and he even sanded it with 1200 grit

 

Might just have to repaint the roof, or youre just gonna have to live with it.
