What color or what type? With a classic like yours, you may want to stick with a light tint, such as 15%, but depending on your tastes, you may want the darker look. Choose a tint that has a lifetime warranty, you dont want it fading or turning purple on you in couple of years. My vert has 5% all around, with a 50% on the windshield, that black top gets hot, and I need to help the A/C all I can. And no, it is not, "Legal".
im getting her painted a light yellow color. my dad has a 77 vette corvette yellow he did his tint yesterday on the windows came out nice. he bought it from autozone it was the darkest they can sell. it looks nice with his paint but im not to sure on my yellow
I never had good luck with do it yourself tint. Maybe I never got a quality tint. I may have to do my own back window though, my tint guy is giving me the run around, and I need to have my back window redone, I just had new top put on, and I couldnt re-use the old rear glass. Good luck, and post up some pics when you get her done.
15% is really dark..... I wouldnt do dark tint on an older car just because I have seen it on a few older mustangs and camaros etc. If you want to tint the windows you can do 35% in rear an 50% in front not too dark but just enough to tell the windows are tinted...
