Default is this a factory defect?

I've seen at most 4 mustangs, including mine, all 94-98 bodystyle that have paint peeling of from the trunk, next to the Ford emblem. was this a defect or does the paint suck? what would be an estimate to paint it all over again?

its probably just crappy paint + a crappy clear coat. how bad is it coming off? if its really minor then u might be able to use some touch up paint but other than that you will have to have the whole trunk reshot. call around to diff body shops and see what they have to say.

I wouldnt say thats a defect, cuz I own a 94 too and while some of the paint is peeling on the corners of the hood, its paint isnt peeling around there, but thats just my opinion.

I have paint peeling also..well, the clearcoat, but suprisingly the trunk is the only place its not peeling. I would say try to touch it up before it gets as bad as mine. Everytime I wash the car, I find another spot. [:@]
