Default De-Badging my new stang.

Well, I've made up my mind that I want to clean up the clutter on my rear end. I really don't like advertising the car lot I bought from or the company that made my car, so I plan on removing all the badges that say "woodhouse", "ford", or whatever else. Basically, if it's tackied on, I wanna pull it off. I'm not sure whether or not I wanna take hte side badges off, or not. Mine is a V6, and I'm pretty sure that's signified by the red, white and blue flag overshadowed by the pony... if I recall, the V8's got a wheel or a wreath or something to that effect? Anyway...

What's the best way to remove badging, and with stock badging (ovals, mustang badges, etc), will there be any damage when removing, and will there be paint beneath (I assume there would be, but I best ask first just in case)? What items will I need, how long will it take, and who's got pictures with it done already?

On you new car, I would be very careful. Use floss to remove the raised emblems, and for the stick on vinyl decalsl use a hair dryer and try to heat them up and peel them off............carefully.

Floss? Aighty... I'll do it _CAREFULLY_. Probably go to my dad's house and do it at his garage... get his girlfriend's hairddryer. Ought to get it done in a night. Then I'll probably just remove the front grill... maybe see if there is a way to get a relatively cheap mesh or something.

Well, here's the grille delete I need. I'll get it as soon as I get a mach 1 chin spoiler. My car is gonna look so pwn... I'll wait until I get my FAFSA refund and then buy the CAI, grille delete and chin spoiler all at once and turn it into a project weekend. While I was on that sight I also saw a shorty antenna and some sequential turn light kit that looked pretty awesome too.

Buy a thing of GOO GONE it will help remove the left over adhesive from the emblems, and yes use a hair dryer carefully to warm the emblems up.

Aight, will do. But there will be paint beneath the emblems, and it shouldn't do anything ugly to my paint if I do it careful, right?

Yes, there will be paint under there, but make sure your car is clean before you start rubbing the adhesive off, as it will leave scratches or swirls in your paint if there is dirt in there, just take your time and you should be happy with the results.

Well of course I'll take my time. What would you reccomend for a cleaning procedure? Just scrub it with a brush and then wash it with a nice sponge? I take it wax and polish can be done afterwards?
