Default detailing at an apartment complex

Hey all. My parents are moving out of the area at the end of the month here and i wont have anywhere to detail easily =( Curious to see how other people that dont have their own driveways/garages do detailing.

Does a quick notouch car was get off all the dirt so its safe to detail afterwords? Should i go to a self wash then find a shady area? Is is ok to poslish wax etc in spotty sunlight or should i be trying to find complete shade

You can get an ez-up tent if you want to work in the shade. That is what I take if I have to go to someones house to detail. There are a few products that can be used in the sun. The products have to be desinged to use in the Sun though. You can get a lot of useful info over at autopia.com.

Best bet is to find a place where you pay around $2 or $3 for the all-in-one hand washes. Bring your own bucket and sponge.
Rinse, wash, and spend another $2 or $3 to get the soap off. The one by my apartment are open garages and you can dry and detail the car inside there.

it's way easier to just become slightly less **** and not detail the car more than a good hand car wash does, if you axe me.
