Default Question

Are there any polishes or waxes that work best for black paint? I assume that they will all work pretty well, but maybe someone has used one that seems to do a better job? Thanks.

I have good luck with Poorboys products. Any good carnuba wax will look good on black. Some waxes have an ingredient added for darker colored cars. Having a black car, make sure the paint is completely clean when you wax. Black shows swirls so easy. I always buff black cars in a back in forth motion instead of circular.

Juztang, wow! What a shine! Could you tell me which Poorboy's products to use on my new Satin Silver? I just spent five hours using a clay bar and wax, and although the car feels smooth as silk, I don't have shine like that. Or is Satin Silver always going to be satin, not shiny? I bet black shows the best shine (and the most dirt)... I saw your website... what's your recipe for shiny on the silver? Thanks...

Unfortunately any PURE color is going to shine like that when polished/waxed properly. Metallica colors (silver, min. grey, red-fire, etc...) are easier to care for but just don't quite shine like that

Its really a trade off, do you want that deep shine with the extra hassle of polishing all the swirls, or would you rather have a finish that doesn't shine quite as deep but doesn't show the swirls??

Black always looks the best IMO, but man what a workout [8D]

Remember that the results are just as much about the process as it is about the product. Making sure the paint is fully smooth, polished and free of defects goes a long way towards making black look fantastic.
