cleaning up headers
Not sure if this is the right place for this...
i bought some chrome headers from a guy on here and was wondering what to use to clean them up a little bit. they have the blueish-purpleish thing going on that they get when they are used...but i was told that there was something i could use to get them back to being bright and shiney.
anyone have any ideas??
would something like Mothers chrome polish work, or is that something that is not meant for engine parts?

So long as you're sure they're chrome and not stainless steel, the Mothers Chrome Polish should work. I'd try it with their PowerBall Mini; or use it with a cotton terry applicator or towel.
If the headers are stainless steel, you can get their PowerBall Mini MD and Scratch Removing Polish (tough enough for stainless) on their website at mothers.com
