Default Dupli-Color paint

has anyone used that dupli-color 2-n-1 paint pen. I was gonna try it on my 94 gt because the people that we got it from didnt take very good care of it and it has chips on it. I was wondering if it is noticible without the clearcoat over it where you touch it up.

I have been really itching to try that stuff myself. I was living in Philly for a few months and it felt like everytime I washed my car I would find a new scratch or chip. I'm not sure what its going to look like without the clearcoat, but Dupli-Color also makes a deluxe package that comes with the 2-in-1 paint pen and a bottom of clearcoat so I might give that a try. I figure it can't be more noticable that a scratch.

If you try it before I do let me know how it goes.

i didnt know that they offered a kit with a cleacoat in it. yeah, it cant be any more noticable because my chips and scratches show up white and contrast real bad with the dark green. it cant hurt to try it. im about to leave to go on a trip to FL until next saturday so im prob gonna try it when i get back from there. ill tell you how it goes if you havent gotten to it first.

I just get a tube from the dealership...and use a burnt match stick to fill the scratch

My buddy tried the pen on his STi and it didn't work.

I just would buy some touch up paint and some toothpicks, screw using the brush. I put a little in a dish and just dip the toothpick in it.

You would be surprised how little it actually takes to fill the chip/scratch. The best way to fill a chips is thin cotes. I had a chip on my door handle and took 3 touch ups and now you can barly tell.

i stopped by advanced auto today and got the whole kit. It has the spot putty, primer pen, clearcoat pen, sanding disc, polishing compound, & sanding sheets. You still have to buy the paint to match your car though. it was all about $19. Im gonna start it all tonight, it will prob take a couple of days for the finished product though because you have to let everything dry. Ill take some before and after pics of it too.

I'm going a different route. I'm trying the OEM paint, with Mother's Paint Chip Repair kit. I'll let you know how it goes. Look promising though. They were out of paint this weekend...supposed to be in today.
