Default Cleaning my ride...

This mustang is my first car. I may have already said it, but I bought this car before I got my license and learned how to drive in it. Naturally, there's a lot I don't know, one of these things is how to properly clean my vehicle. If I was to ask for the best car cleaning start kit, what would you guys reccomend? All the way from what spone to scrub it with to what wax to shine it with, I need to know these things.

color of the car will effect what u want to use

for interior trim pieces.. mothers back to black hands down. protects and shines every piece (vinyl/plastic - NO LEATHER)

i just use dish soap and water to wash the outside. if u want to go all out. get a clay bar and some kind of wax (theres tons of them...)

I have been washing my own cars by hand for 12 years, Let me give you some advise:

Dont use liquid soap more than 1 time, it is not good for finish, to use it reguarly,

Does the car have scrtach marks? what year?

Assuming its used:

Buy some eagle one for the wheels do them first, then move to the inside vacum the inside well, use a shampoo for the carpets. If you have leather buy some leather cleaner and conditioner, Lexol works nice, you can also use that on the dash its not real oily.

Get 2 2 gallon buckets one for washing and one for rinse.
Wash the car in dawn to get it squeaky clean, then buy a clay bar and mix some good car shampoo with water in a squirt bottle. Use that as lubrication. Get lots of new 100% cotton or good quality microfiber towels. Wipe off the clay after you lube then clay.

Wash the car with a good car wash shampoo, with a nice wool hand mitt. Start at the top and work your way to the bottom. Work one panel at a time. Take the hose and dry the car with no nozzle it will leave less water. Take a clean towel, and blot the finish till dry. dont forget to clean your door jambs and wipe them last.

As far as wax I like zaino, but its pricey, around 90 bucks for the kit. Lets concentrate of auto parts stores for now. Buy a paint cleaner polish, meguiars has one that comes to mind, stage 1 of there 3 step kit. Buy some good quality applicators, not the cheap ones!. Wet the applicator with water and apply the wax, dont use to many circular motions. buff with a 100% cotton towel or good quality microfiber and buff the wax off.

Then apply a nice oat of wax, Zymol is nice, or meguiars NXT is good. Same idea wet applicator slightly and apply the wax in a 2X2 area. buff off with your good quality towel.

Finish with a "final detailer or gloss enhancer" buff off.
Use some stoner glass cleaner with a towel and clean your windows and exterior glass, use a clean towel to buff them, it wont streak this way.
If you want to go crazy buy some armor all and spray it in the wheel wheels not on the tires.
Use some meguiars tire shine with an applicator for your tires, its a purple gloss and works great. little goes a long way.

Done!! finished ride.

I know that was lenthy but it works man.

If the sky is the limit, go to www.zainobros.com and pic up a detail set and have at it Zaino is really nice stuff.

Post some before and afters!

Good luck.
