air compressor
I want to start painting small pieces under the hood here and there and maybe some interior panels and try and to learn how to paint
will this compressor work for that job, Im not going to paint a entire car so Im thinking this will work

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I see trim carpenters spraying stain & lacquer all the time with smaller/portable comps like that. It will just run more often then a larger tank compressor. I haven't painted with a compressor for a long time so somebody else can chime it on this - but I THINK you only need about 40 psi to run a spray gun.
BUT you may want to consider a bigger unit that goes upwards of 140-150 psi. You will want to start using it for other odd jobs around the house and you might find the 100psi to be limiting - such as removing over torqued or rusty lug nuts, removing the lawn mower blade, other similar large nuts via an impact wrench, shooting nailes through your skull (just kidding [8D])
