I have some very minor touching up to do on the black plastic in my 95.
do i have to take the piece out, sand and paint?
or does anyone know of a good dye/paint that i can apply with a brush or sponge?

that all well and nice, ive read that to the point of memorization.
but it doesnt answer my question... is there any way to do minor interior paint without having to use a spray paint or dye? perhaps a brush or sponge or something else?

I know some companies make stuff you can apply with a sponge but I'm not sure of their names. You can however get a spray can from 5.0 Resto that works really well. For their paint all you have to do is clean the part with alcohol then hit it with the primer (also from 5.0 Resto) then spray on the paint. I painted the whole interior of our 93 5.0 and it worked and looks great.
5.0 has some good stuff. I completly repainted my whole interior too. Best thing is to paint the whole thing again im sorry to say. Clean it with alcohol, wipe with towel while alcohol is still wet, no sanding needed, you can get a can of adhesive from Auto Zone, where i got mine works really well. Spay adheasive wait about 5 minutes and spray with Krylon, or plastic paint. I say do the whole thing because if you just do part of it, most likely the colors wont match exactly and it will look horrible. Sorry, but just what i think.
