HID Headlights
Hey guys i have a 90 mustang gt and I was wandering if there is any way possible for me to install some bright HID lightbulbs? Now I have multiple questions first is it possible
being that the car is old. next, will i have to buy new headlights that can support HID lighbulbs because i hear these bulbs go with only special kinds of headlights that can support
the power of the HID's. I've hard that the factory headlights might bust is that true? if anyone please tell me what i should do. thanks i really appreciate the help.

Axcel,
First off, I'm guessing you want the HID look with just regular bulbs. If thats the case, check out the slyvania silverstar line or others that say XENON. Be careful though as some of these bulbs run a higher wattage to give the brighter light. This increases the heat output of the bulb and MAY cause damage to your headlight housings. This is where you have heard it might cause them to bust.
Now, you cannot just buy a true HID bulb and use it. It requires a ballast and ignitor. HID bulbs contain xenon gas and NO filament. The ignitor causes an arc through the gas which gives you your light. A true HID conversion is fairly espensive too. Check out www.xenonking.com Poke around that site, especially the FAQ, it may answer some of your questions.
Good luck
